Cannot log on to Web-based games after installing Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall

STEP 2
   Update Norton Internet Security

Many problems have been fixed in the latest Norton product update. If you have a valid subscription, then you are eligible for the latest product update. Click the button to update your Norton program.
UPDATE NOW

If you purchased your product through your internet service provider (ISP), please be sure that you have the latest version available from your ISP. Run LiveUpdate to download and install the most recent updates.

If you do not want to update your Norton product, go to the next step.

STEP 3
   Create a rule that permits referrer information
 I use Norton Internet Security

Start Norton Internet Security.

Do one of the following: 
 
  • In Norton Internet Security 2003, click Options > Internet Security, and then click the Web Content tab.
  • In Norton Internet Security 2004 or later, double-click Privacy Control, and then click Advanced.

In the bottom of the Advanced window, click Add Site.

In the New Site/Domain box, type the name of the site that you want to receive the referrer information, and then click OK.

The site name appears in the left frame of the Options window.

Click the name of the new site.

On the Global Settings tab, under the Information about visited sites section, uncheck Use default settings.

Click Permit.

Click OK to close the Options window.

What if this didn't work? 

 I use Norton Personal Firewall

Start Norton Personal Firewall.

Do one of the following:  
  • In Norton Personal Firewall 2003, click Options > Internet Security, and then click the Web Content tab.
  • In Norton Personal Firewall 2004 or later, double-click Privacy Control, and then click Advanced.

In the bottom of the Advanced window, click Add Site.

In the New Site/Domain box, type the name of the site that you want to receive the referrer information, and click OK.

The site name appears in the left frame of the Options window.

Click the name of the new site.

On the Global Settings tab, under the Information about visited sites section, uncheck Use default settings.

Click Permit.

Click OK to close the Options window.
